Make a lovely Kayak tour along the Tagus  river and visit the medieval castle of Almourol, which is located in the river and only reachable by boat. The castle of Almourol is one of the more emblematic medieval military monuments of the Reconquista and one of the best representations of the influence of the Knights Templar in Portugal, dating all the way back to 1129.

You can choose to have a picknick on route or stop at a little restaurant along the riverside. Also very nice to combine with a visit to the very quaint villages Constância and Vila Nova da Barquinha.
